Lesson Specifics

How old do you have to be to participate?

Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Individuals ages 12 through 17 may participate with the approval of a legal guardian.

How long is a typical lesson?

Our lessons range in time but usually last around 2 to 2.5 hours

Can spectators come and watch?

We encourage spectators to come watch. We request that you let Ascend Sporting know so that we can plan accordingly.

Is there a physical fitness requirement?

There is no hard and fast fitness requirement, other than being able to hold about 8 lbs.

What clothing should I wear to a lesson?

Wear weather appropriate clothing, a baseball cap, closed toed shoes, and refrain from loose fitting cloths

Safety

How does Ascend Sporting ensure safety?

Your instructor is NRA certified and in addition to completing SCTP and USAYESS firearms safety trainings; each lesson requires a safety briefing beforehand or demonstrated proficiency in gun safety and your instructor will be next to you during the entire lesson ensuring everyone remains safe.

Do I need my own equipment to participate?

Ascend Sporting provides an entry level lesson which can provides everything you will need, just show up and have fun!

Is safety equipment included?

To “Participants and guest can wear their own safety gear, however Ascend Sporting will also have safety gear available if needed.”

Do I need a firearm license or permit?

No permit is required, although you may not be eligible to participate if there are state or federal restrictions on your ability to possess a firearm.

Can pregnant individuals participate?

Pregnant individuals cannot participate in Ascend Sporting Range Lessons
